Meet Our Staff
Our staff strives to see our students achieve success both in and out of the band program. The band is proud to have the following people in support roles with Mr. Stanley. Their bios are below.
Nicholas "Nick" Stanley
Director of Bands
Mr. Stanley is a graduate of Pasquotank County High School (c/o 2014) and a graduate of the East Carolina University A.J. Fletcher School of Music (c/o 2019), where he graduated Cum Laude with a degree in Music Education. While at PCHS and ECU, Mr. Stanley played trumpet in various ensembles. Some of his professors at ECU included Dr. Scott Carter (Wind Ensemble and Conducting), Dr. William Staub (Marching Pirates and Conducting), Gabriel DiMartino (Trumpet), Dr. Thomas Huener (Trumpet), and Dr. Cindy Wagoner (Music Education).
The 2019-2020 school year will be Mr. Stanley's first year as Director of Bands. He is excited about returning to his alma mater and looking forward to a great school year.
Mr. James is also a graduate of Pasquotank County High School (c/o 2016). Mr. James has been the Drumline Instructor for PCHS for the past few years. His roles are to instruct the drumline during marching season and assist with band camp with the battery section. Mr. James' background also includes performing as a member with North Carolina A&T's band.
Color Guard Instructor
Ms. Johnson is currently finishing her degree at East Carolina University. She has been involved with the ECU Color Guard, as well as many other guard and spin organizations. Ms. Johnson is in her second year as an instructor with the PCHS Marching Band.
